If you are serious about successfully slowing down your skin care aging process a working knowledge of skin science is necessary. Once you know what causes skin to age, you can better understand how to slow down your own skin aging process.
When we talk about skin care aging, we are also talking about the aging effects of our entire body. Our body is an entire organism composed of many kinds of organs and cells that communicate and work together to keep us alive and vital. Our skin is more than a decorative covering; it is our largest organ that performs vital functions necessary for our survival. Not only does it protect us from environmental pathogens from entering our body, it also prevents our insides from leaking out. Our skin naturally eliminates a huge amount of biological waste and is a vital outpost of our nervous system. Nervous system receptors in our skin detect pressure, temperature, and pain, with our lips being the most sensitive. When we show affection for another with a hug, it is our skin that touches another, not our pancreas or our liver.
Aging theory states that our body ages in 2 ways, internal aging that occurs with the passing of time, and externally where natural aging is accelerated from outside causes such as sun exposure, air pollution, smoking, poor lifestyle, some cosmetics, allergens and lack of regular self care.
