Over the last decade, lasers, microdermabrasion and chemical peels have emerged as the most sought after treatments for skin resurfacing. Typically, deep laser resurfacing is painful and requires excessive downtime.  Similarly, some concerns have arisen over the use of the free-flowing abrasive particles used in microdermabrasion (aluminum oxide, Al₂O₃).

The SilkPeel redefines skin resurfacing with its Enhanced Topical Delivery approach. The distal end of the hand piece consists of a diamond treatment head that is located inside a transparent disposable tip. When the hand piece comes in contact with your skin, the tissue being treated is gently brought into contact with the abrasive surface of the treatment head. Precise exfoliation occurs as the hand piece is drawn over the skin. At the same time, targeted treatment solutions are delivered to deeper tissue as the stratum corneum (top layer of dead skin) is removed.
