Deep Tissue Massage.

Breath is the catalyzer of energy. Massage is the transference energy from one person to another. The effectiveness and quality of a massage is therefore directly related to the efficiency of breath. Though many believe that taking in air into our bodies is what gives life force, I believe that the exhalation of our breath is what life and the transference of energy is all about.

Consider the first thing a healthy newborn does as he is delivered from the womb…..he EXHALES.  People who have watched death have noted that inhalation is the last form of respiration. Notice that during the delivery of exercise, heavy exertion or before one begins or says something of great importance….an exhalation is engaged.  Many of the sounds made during gratifying sex are uttered during an exhale.Kiai is an exhalation of intense power Kiai, a guttural shout of a martial artist during a maneuver is a focused, forced exhale.

Of course, we do live in a world of checks and balances, of cause and effect. For every exhale made, a corresponding inhale is necessary to bring in fresh nutrients that catalyze the energy building processes of our body. Even though our body is designed to breathe on its own, conscious awareness and direction is needed to ensure that breath is fully utilized by our body.  The best inhalations take air in through our nostrils. There it can be moistened for maximum absorption, filtered for unwanted particle content and smelled for safety and other assessments.  A complete inhale will fill our lungs, lower our diaphragm muscle and naturally compress or move the vital organs of our gut; our stomach will pouch out slightly. A full exhale is accomplished by contracting our diaphragm and/or stomach muscles and allowing maximum amounts of metabolized air to escape via the mouth or nostrils.

Breath is Nature’s Valium. The rhythmic movement of breath allows the following benefits: systemic relaxation & rejuvenation as well as massaging of the gut organs where it is said new, efficient breath energy is produced. Breath is EnergySlow, conscious breathing grounds us and connect us to ourselves and others. An exhalation of breath allows us to intentionally direct the flow of energy anywhere:  we can direct it to any part of our own body for energetic flow or repair and/or we can direct it outside our body to another for healing or killing purposes. Conscious breathing also allows us to sink deeper into the ground as well as deeper into the tissues of our client.

Massage is a healing art where energy is transferred from the healer to the recipient. The efficiency and quality of a massage is directly proportional to the quality of breath energy being transferred. With conscious direction, breath can be maximized to produce optimal healing energy   transference to the recipient.
